Bashkiria was included in 10 regions of Russia with exhausted resource of garbage landfills
UFA, 29 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Ten Russian regions, including Bashkortostan, reached a critical level of landfills depletion. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the head of the State Duma's Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, Vladimir Burmatov.
Last December, Vladimir Putin signed a law that establishes separate collection of garbage in Russia, as well as measures to encourage enterprises and Russians to separate waste collection.
"Critical level of landfills depletion is observed, in particular, in the Astrakhan, Kaluga, Leningrad, Moscow, Orel, Tver regions, the Republics of Buryatia, Bashkiria, Kabardino-Balkaria, Crimea", Burmatov said.
He also noted that the critical state of affairs was with disposal fields, in particular with their location on lands not intended for this purpose, including in the territory of settlements, forest fund lands and agricultural lands. So, according to him, almost 11,000 such dumps were registered on an area of 5.6 hectares and more than 38 thousand waste deposits with an area of almost four thousand hectares.
