Kumertau headed best single-industry cities rating in Russia

Results of the main rating for all single-industry cities of the Russian Federation are announced in Moscow. Kumertau again confirmed its status as one of the best mono- cities in Russia, the press service of the Government of Bashkortostan reports.

The rating is compiled by the Mono-City Development Fund and assesses the activity and effectiveness of local self-government bodies in the course of implementing the objectives of the program "Single-Industry Towns Integrated Development". Top-10 helps to identify the strongest, most promising features of single-industry leaders and determine the most successful projects to improve the quality of life in these municipalities.

Last year, Kumertau also entered the top ten, confirmed its status in 2018. For a year and a half nine residents opened their enterprises in the Kumertau priority development area, and created more than 1300 jobs for citizens.

As Irina Makieva, the head of the "Single-Industry Towns Integrated Development" program noted, one of the most outstanding investment projects was an oil-mill creation in Kumertau.

"This is an excellent example of the interaction of authorities, investors and development institutions", she said.
