Bashkiria claims to hold World Plowing Championship-2020

UFA, 26 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria - Agriculture Minister Ilshat Fazrakhmanov presented our republic as an applicant for hosting the World Plowing Championship 2020.

The presentation of Bashkiria was held in Suzdal, Vladimir region, where this year the seventh Open Russian Plowing Championship and the 35th European Plowing Championship were held.

As the Deputy Prime Minister stressed during the presentation, our republic is the leader in the production of milk, meat, honey, koumiss, horses, and cattle. In general, Bashkiria confidently enters the top ten regions of Russia in terms of agricultural production.

Moreover, the republic has good experience in organizing and holding international events.

In 2015, the 7th BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summits took place in the city of Ufa. Last year Bashkiria won the right to hold the 47th Congress of the Beekeeping Associations International Federation "Apimondia" in 2021. Annually the "Agrocomplex" International Agro-Industrial Exhibition and the "Milk Country" festival are conducted in the region.

"Finally, last year Bashkortostan hosted the 6th Open Russian Plowing Championship. We are sure that the republic will become a worthy platform for the World Plowing Championship in 2020, which will become a bright event in the agrarian life of the country and our region", Ilshat Fazrakhmanov said.
