388 purebred pigs arrived from Denmark in Bashkiria

UFA, 26 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The first batch of 388 pigs from Denmark arrived at the breeding and genetic center of the Bashkir Meat Company. A total of 750 Duroc and Yorkshire animals were selected at Danish enterprises. The rest will be delivered in the following shipments.

As explained by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB, the BMC breeding and genetic center is designed to receive hybrid youngsters for fattening. The company is engaged in breeding of two genetic lines of pigs, each of which is represented by Yorkshire, Duroc and Landrace breeds, as the three-breed cross-breeding is a basis of the genetic work in the meat production.

The "Bashkir Meat Company" LLC is a member of the TAVROS Group of Companies. In the territory of Bashkiria, the company has built three complexes for raising and fattening pigs in Blagovar, Buzdyak and Chishmy districts within the framework of investment projects. The breeding-genetic center for 5600 heads of sows is launched this year.
