Government is considering bill on amendments to pension system
UFA, 14 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Today, on June 14, the Russian Government is considering a bill on amendments to the pension system. As reported by the federal media, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced the details of the future reform. The retirement age for men increases from 60 to 65 years by 2028, for women - from 55 to 63 years by 2034. Accordingly, the first increase will affect men born in 1959 and women born in 1964. They will be able to retire in 2020 at 61 and 56 years.
Perhaps for women, the retirement age will increase by six months per year.
Decisions to change the retirement age became imminent and it is impossible to implement the president's decree on raising pensions without solving this issue, the Vedomosti cites Prime Minister.
As for the current pensioners, nothing changes for them. Their pensions will grow by approximately one thousand rubles a year, Medusa specifies. According to the head of Government, privileges for early retirement benefits will be preserved. Holders of 40 years of working experience for women and 45 years for men will be able to retire two years earlier.
Tonight or Friday, June 15, the bill may already be submitted to the State Duma for consideration. Before the end of the current session, the deputies will be able to adopt it in the first reading.
