Rustem Khamitov met with Pavlodar region delegation of Kazakhstan

UFA, 23 May 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Yesterday in the House of the Republic the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a meeting with the delegation of Pavlodar region of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Akim of the region Bulat Bakauov. The parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation and implementing joint projects in various sectors of the economy and social sphere.
Over the past quarter of the century, the most favorable conditions for the development of Russian-Kazakhstan inter-regional cooperation have been created. They are based on strong contractual grounds between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, which are in a Common Free Market Zone.
The trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan last year amounted to 392 million dollars, of which 360 million dollars were export deliveries. At the same time, Kazakhstan accounts for 40 percent of all trade turnover between Bashkortostan and the CIS countries.
According to the head of the republic, promising areas of interregional cooperation are oil refining and petrochemicals, engineering, agriculture, as well as education and culture. Rustem Khamitov spoke about major international events that would be held in Bashkortostan in the coming years and invited Pavlodar delegations to participate in them.
“We hope that we will be able to visit the Pavlodar region in the near future in order to expand the horizons of our cooperation,” the Head of Bashkortostan stressed.
Bulat Bakauov marked that the current delegation was the third one, which came to Bashkortostan after signing an agreement on cooperation. Akim listed the main areas in which the two regions could effectively interact, especially noting refining and petrochemicals.
“It should be mentioned that the existing cooperation can expand in two directions: the introduction of the technology for processing bottom oil sludge and introduction of a tar de-asphalting unit at the plant facilities", said Bulat Bakauov. “These issues are under negotiation now. We hope, with your assistance, to bring these projects to practical implementation.”
“Recently I have been developing in detail a theme of cooperation. We should also create a "Republic of Bashkortostan - Pavlodar region"cooperative to assist each other using our advantages, to develop and to move forward", Rustem Khamitov said at the end of the meeting.
