State bench tests of AL-41F-1 aircraft engine were carried out in Bashkiria

UFA, 18 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. Tests of an experimental engine were completed at the leading Bashkortostan enterprise - Ufa Engine-Building Production Association (UMPO). The final meeting of the State Commission for the turbojet engine AL-41F-1 was closed by a solemn handing over of the state bench test completion act to PJSC "UDC-UMPO" (part of the United Engine Corporation of Rostec). The ceremony was held in the Moscow branch of the enterprise - the A. Lyulka Experimental Design Bureau.

Thus, the 14-year experimental design works are completed. The AL-41F-1 performs a function of the first stage engine for the fifth-generation fighter Su-57 (PAK FA). The first test flight of PAK FA with AL-41F-1 took place on January 29, 2010.

At present, the UDC is working on the second stage engine for the Su-57. On December 5, 2017, the aircraft with the second-stage engine first hit the skies, the flight was normal. When creating a perspective engine, the state-of-the-art technologies and materials were used, which made it possible to achieve the technical requirements for the fifth generation engine unit, the UDC website reports.
