Ufa Airport is laureate of "Wings of Russia-2017" aviation award

UFA, 11 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/. The Ufa Airport became the only regional airport - winner of the "Wings of Russia-2017" aviation award. The Ufa air hub was awarded a diploma of the national aviation award along with the Vnukovo airport. The 21st awarding ceremony of the "Wings of Russia" award named after Yevgeny Chibirev was held in Moscow on April 10.

The prize was awarded in 12 nominations. About 100 applicants took part in the competition. Almost all airports in Russia fought for the title of "Airport of the Year" – only 11 reached the nomination. The winner was Moscow's air hub Sheremetyevo, and Ufa and Vnukovo became diploma holders.

Winners and laureates of the "Wings of Russia-2017" were evaluated by an expert council and determined by secret ballot. Quality and quantity selection criteria were taken into account: passenger traffic, route network, passengers service level and provision of high-tech equipment.

"Our goal is to remain one of the best airports in the country with a passenger flow from two to four million people a year. Our priorities: to ensure the highest safety of flights, to develop all services and maintain the high quality of passenger service", said the general director of JSC "International Airport "Ufa" Alexander Andreev.

It is the second victory at the "Wings of Russia" for the Ufa Airport. It was already the winner and was awarded the "Airport of the Year" title at the "Wings of Russia 2015".

Based on the results of the "Air Gate of Russia" national award, the Ufa Airport is recognized as the best in the country among airports with a passenger flow of up to 4 million people per year and the best one by the results of passenger voting for three consecutive years. Experts of the authoritative agency "Aviaport" awarded the Ufa airport four stars out of five possible for the quality of the terminal infrastructure and passenger services. Today, the Ufa airport complex is not only one of the most modern, but it is among the ten largest in Russia, serving more than 2.8 million passengers per year.
