Bashkiria agrarians will increase sown areas of high-margin crops

UFA, 10 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The agrarians of Bashkortostan plan to increase sown areas of high-margin crops. This is primarily related to oilseeds, stressed the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic.

Total this year spring sowing should be carried out in the area of 2,065 million hectares, without taking into account replanting of winter crops. This is by 131 thousand hectares more than a year ago.

According to the structure of sown areas, areas with oil-bearing crops, except for sunflower, will grow by 31.6 thousand hectares. It is planned to increase the area of emmer wheat by 800 hectares, leguminous plants - by 19.1 thousand hectares.

The acreage of spring grain crops will decrease - by 134.2 thousand hectares, sugar beet - by 4.1 thousand hectares, corn for grain - by 5.5 thousand hectares.

Thus, spring cereals will be sown this year on 1.353 million hectares against 1.468 million hectares last year. 48.7 thousand hectares are planned for sugar beet, 216.2 thousand hectares for sunflower, and 858.8 thousand hectares for fodder crops, the agrarian department stated.
