Housing construction volume should grow from 2.5 to 4 million sq m in Bashkortostan - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 21 March 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/. According to the tasks announced by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the Address to the Federal Assembly, the volume of housing construction in the republic should grow from 2.5 to 4 million sq m. This was stated by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov at a meeting of the Government of the region.
"In his recent Address, Vladimir Putin set a task to increase the housing construction volume from today's 80 million to 120 million sq m", said Rustem Khamitov. "This means for our republic that from the current 2.5 million construction should grow to 3.7-4 million sq m of new housing per year".
At the same time, the Head of the Republic noted that 232,000 sq m of housing were commissioned in Bashkortostan in the first two months of 2018. This is significantly less than in January-February last year. The volume of individual construction has also decreased significantly.
"I think that it is necessary to hold a separate meeting on the construction industry development, to discuss measures on expanding the affordable housing construction, production of building materials, development in the areas of road and social infrastructure," stressed Rustem Khamitov. "Separately, it is necessary to consider the issues of stimulating individual developers, supporting in this part of families with low incomes, determining the effect of granting free land plots, etc.
