Bashkortostan entered top 10 regions in terms of agricultural production

UFA, 27 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Daria Petrova/. Last year Bashkortostan took the eighth place in the country in terms of agricultural production. The «Agroinvest» magazine compiled a rating of regions based on Rosstat data.

The volume of agricultural production in the republic amounted to 171.8 billion rubles in 2017, which is 2.8% higher than a year ago. The indicators for plant growing increased by 5.2%, livestock production - by 0.8%. The harvest of cereals and leguminous crops increased by 13.8% - the republic in this indicator took the fourth place in the Volga Federal District.

The harvest of sunflower (+ 21.3%), sugar beet (+ 14%), vegetables (+ 2.2%) also increased. The yield of potatoes decreased by 9.3%.

According to statistics, in the region production of livestock and poultry increased by 3.2%, milk yields decreased by 0.7%, eggs production decreased by 0.5%.

In addition to Bashkortostan, the Krasnodar Territory, the Rostov Region, the Stavropol Territory, the Belgorod, Voronezh, Saratov, Volgograd Regions, the Altai Territory and Tatarstan were among the top-10 leaders in terms of agricultural output. Total, they produced agricultural products for 2.2 trillion rubles - almost 40% of the total Russian volume.
