Rustem Khamitov took part in plenary session of Russian Investment Forum Sochi-2018

UFA, 16 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/. A plenary session "Investing in the Regions - Investing in the Future" was held within the framework of the Russian Investment Forum "Sochi-2018", at which the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev delivered an address. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part in it.
According to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to ensure tax system stability and tariff policy transparency in order to increase the volume of commercial investments, which will expand the planning perspectives for investment projects.
A demand for products and understanding of a competitive environment are equally important to investors. This implies a clear planning of investment strategies for each region and its coordination with the others.
One of the main reasons for low investment activity is a poor development or limited infrastructure. The solution of this problem should be promoted by an infrastructure mortgage program, which is currently discussed in the Government.
Besides, investors are interested in cheap long money. In this regard, work continues on a gradual reduction in lending rates, expansion of lending programs for small and medium-sized businesses, introducing tools such as issuance of federal loan bonds for individuals. Dmitry Medvedev also said that he had approved a new program "Project Finance Factory".
The Prime Minister stated that work on the Spatial Development Strategy until 2025 would be completed this year.
Dmitry Medvedev stressed that the regional plans on creation of their own infrastructure should be interlinked.
Before the beginning of the plenary session, Dmitry Medvedev visited an exposition of the investment exhibition, which was held in the framework of the forum.
The exposition, in particular, displays a stand of Bashkortostan devoted to the event industry as a development driver of the regional economy. The stand presents in detail the biggest events that will take place in the republic in the coming years, including the World Folklore Festival, the International Congress on Beekeeping "Apimondia", the Small Business Forum of the regions of the SCO and BRICS member states, various industry forums.
The Bashkortostan Government considers development of the congress potential of the republic as one of its priorities. So, on the sidelines of the forum, an agreement was signed on strategic cooperation with the National Congress Bureau.
