Bashkiria presented its organic production resources in Germany

UFA, 16 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The official delegation of Bashkortostan, paying currently a working trip to Germany, visited a BIOFACH organic food exhibition. The exhibition is held in Nuremberg, from February 14 to 17.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, Russia was presented at this largest international exhibition for the first time. The leading domestic producers demonstrate their products on a collective stand Made in Russia organized by the National Organic Union in conjunction with the Russian Export Center.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Agriculture RF Evgeny Gromyko, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan - Agriculture Minister Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, as well as heads of departments of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and representatives of the German side took part in an opening ceremony of the Russian stand.

"Russia stands now on the verge of serious opportunities in organic production", said Evgeny Gromyko. "We are now preparing for the final adoption of a law on organic farming."

The draft of this law was presented later in a panel discussion "Organic Agriculture - New Perspectives of German-Russian Cooperation". In the course of this panel discussion, the head of the delegation of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov presented the republic's capabilities in cultivating "bio" and "organic" products.

In addition to visiting stands of manufacturers of organic products from other countries, members of the Bashkir delegation met with representatives of German companies involved in certification of dairy, beekeeping, fruit and vegetable products at the international level. Meetings were also held with the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Forestry of Bavaria, other representatives of official and business circles, the press service of the Bashkir Research Institute of Agriculture of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.
