UFA, 14 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Experts named successful the project of the Bank of Russia to monitor the Internet and social networks to identify and prevent cyber attacks on financial institutions. The project is implemented at the National Bank for Bashkortostan.
"The work is underway. Certain results are already available" the deputy head of the Central Directorate for Security and Information Rights of the Bank of Russia Artem Sychev told journalists at the Urals Forum in the Abzelilovo district of the republic.
As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, another pilot project of the Bank of Russia on information security will be implemented in Bashkortostan.
"The Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the advanced regions in terms of information security. We have a backbone facility here, and it is in Bashkortostan that a pilot project on certain information security issues is planned to be implemented during the next year" Dmitry Skobelkin, the deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia, said at the briefing yesterday.
Last year, the total amount of money theft in credit institutions of the country as a result of cyber attacks exceeded 1.156 billion rubles. This is a very good indicator compared with previous years, experts say.
