Rostrud allowed being late for work because of bad weather

UFA, 6 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Late arriving at work due to bad weather conditions can be considered as a valid reason. Therefore, an employer cannot bring employees to disciplinary responsibility, «Izvestia» reports with reference to Rostrud (Federal Labor and Employment Service).

"Since being late for work without justifiable reasons can be regarded as breach of discipline and lead to disciplinary punishment, employers should in such cases take into account possible existence of valid reasons, including, among other things, bad weather conditions and transport disruptions", said the Deputy Head of Rostrud Ivan Shklovets.

The reason for this statement was the fact that from the end of last week weather forecasters marked a record amount of precipitation that had fell in the regions of the Central Federal District.
