Bashkortostan entered top-three regions in establishing agricultural cooperatives

UFA, 2 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/. Bashkortostan entered the top three among the regions of Russia creating agricultural cooperatives. This was reported by the Head of the region Rustem Khamitov at a meeting on preparations for spring field work.
“In less than a year our republic entered the top-three regions creating agricultural cooperatives. Nevertheless, this work should be intensified,” the head of the region noted.
According to Rustem Khamitov, the heads of municipalities should work more actively on informing and educating rural residents on methods and forms of cooperation.
“Today out of 800 rural settlements only 300 are ready to develop cooperation. This is just over 30 percent", Rustem Khamitov marked.
The head of Bashkortostan stressed that the development of cooperation was a major measure in increasing the profitability of agricultural production and labor productivity.
“Last year an important step was made in the republic. Labor productivity in agriculture has grown and reached almost 1.4 million rubles per worker. This is already a good figure,” said Rustem Khamitov. “However, this was achieved primarily at the expense of projects of large enterprises. Now the main thing is to achieve a general increase in the profitability of the agro-industrial complex.”
Within the framework of the meeting, Vladimir Korotkin, the chairman of the marketing company "Kuban" (Krasnodar Territory), shared his experience in organizing and developing large agro-cooperatives, interacting with producers of agricultural products. Engaged in the production of seeds, the cooperative has emerged as a leader in its region.
