Bashkiria entered Top-5 regions for greenhouse vegetables production
UFA, 29 January 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Bashkiria is one of the five best regions of the country for greenhouse vegetables production by agricultural enterprises.
The Krasnodar Territory takes the first place, where last year, 85 thousand tons of vegetables were grown in greenhouses. The Stavropol Territory is in the second place - 65.2 thousand tons, the third place goes to Tatarstan, where last year 46.2 thousand tons were received.
Bashkiria is in the fourth place - 40.1 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables for the year. The top five best regions of the country is closed by the Lipetsk region, with the harvest of greenhouse vegetables of 37.6 thousand tons. Such data are given by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan.
As experts say, the production of greenhouse vegetables has been steadily growing in the country over the past few years. In 2017, the gross harvest of greenhouse vegetables amounted to 952.6 thousand tons. This is 17% more than in 2016 (813.6 thousand tons) and 34.2% higher than the level of 2015 (709.8 thousand tons).
The development of greenhouse vegetable growing today is one of the priorities of the state policy in agriculture, especially under conditions of import substitution. Thus, for three years, the import of vegetables has decreased more than twofold - from 2.4 million tons in 2014 to 1.1 million tons in 2016.
