UFA, 22 January 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The cost of a minimum set of food products in December 2017 amounted to 3,460 rubles in the republic, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reports.
Compared to December 2016, the minimum set of products in the region went up by 1.6 percent.
As explained by statisticians, the cost of the conditional (minimal) set of food reflects the inter-regional differentiation of consumer prices for food products included in it - a total of 33 items.
When calculating it, unified, nationwide, conditional amounts of food consumption and average consumer prices for them by Russian entities are used. It is not a constituent element of the subsistence minimum.
According to statisticians of Bashkiria, compared to January-December 2016, cheese increased most of all - by over 10.1 percent, milk and dairy products went up by 9.5 percent. The oil and fats, which became more expensive by the end of last year by 6.1 percent, closed the top three.
Compared with 2016, sugar fell in price by 19.2 percent. Cereals, legumes and eggs became more affordable for the inhabitants of the republic by 10.7 and 9.7 percent, respectively.
