Rustem Khamitov: "We do not need environmentally polluting production"

At a meeting with representatives of the republican and municipal media, the Head of Bashkortostan, Rustem Khamitov, commented on the situation with the construction of a cement plant in Sibay and noted that he would not allow the appearance of environmentally polluting industries in the region.

According to the head of the republic, the Chinese side plans to invest about $ 150-200 million in investments for the construction of the Sibay enterprise. 90-95 percent jobs will be offered to residents of Bashkortostan at the plant, although experts from the PRC will certainly be there at the time of starting-up and adjustment.

In addition, the new plant has serious requirements for environmental safety.

The Head of Bashkortostan stressed that he would not allow building environmentally non-friendly enterprises in the republic.

"In this case, we are not striving for any investment projects by all means. We need technological, modern projects, those that would benefit the economy of the republic and would not make bad ecological impact".

However, the issue of the plant construction has not yet been fully resolved.
