Preliminary year results are summarized at Presidium meeting of Bashkortostan Government

UFA, 27 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. Yesterday, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a meeting of the Presidium of the republican Government. It was devoted to the preliminary results of social and economic development of the region in 2017 and the main tasks for the forthcoming period.
Rustem Khamitov noted that the year was quite successful in most of the economic and social indicators. The index of industrial production was 102.3 percent for 11 months. The turnover of companies grew by nine percent.
"The inflation rate was a record low - 101.2 percent. Wages are on the rise, and this is one of the important results of the outgoing year. The growth has made more than six percent for January-October, " said the head of the region. "At the same time, real income growth has not yet been achieved. On the contrary, for 10 months it has decreased by more than 2.5 percent. In this part, of course, our efforts should be intensified in the new 2018 year. I expect that the increase in the salary of public sector employees will improve somewhat the situation from January 1. It is important that the labor market remains stable, unemployment declines - approaching five percent, the registered one is less than one percent".
Bashkortostan has become a pilot region for federal projects in terms of creating high-performance jobs, developing export activities, improving the road sector, etc.
Among the problematic issues, the Head of Bashkortostan named moderate indicators of the investment sphere, a slowdown in the pace of housing construction, as well as a difficult demographic situation.
"I will underline that the Government, all ministries and departments, institutions should coordinate their actions with the approved Social and Economic Development Strategy until 2030", said Rustem Khamitov.
