We should enter foreign markets with import substitution products - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 11 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. During his visit to the production site of JSC Pharmstandard-Ufavita, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov named the enterprises of the republic that successfully work within the program of import substitution.

"Today, as a result of an import substitution activity, the Ishimbay plant operates almost at full capacity producing catalytic cracking catalysts and continues to increase volumes. This is also a good example of the company, which managed to arrange its work on a new way", Rustem Khamitov said.

Among other successful productions are enterprises of the machine-building complex that accompany oil production, refining.

"Currently the issues of import substitution are solved deeply and profoundly in agriculture. We can mention just production of cheeses. Recently I have said that more than 30 kinds of cheeses, which were earlier imported from abroad, are produced in our republic ", Rustem Khamitov said. "The French businessmen are buying a part of a stake in the major Belebeyevsky dairy plant and will produce French cheeses here, with the appropriate technology".

At the same time, according to the Head of the Republic, it is not enough to be engaged only in import substitution. It is necessary to promote our products in the foreign markets.

"The main thing is that these products should be exported to foreign markets. Then it can really be called import substitution", stressed Rustem Khamitov. "Now we have a consortium of oil and gas refiners, a consortium of machine builders who work in the field of oil equipment, etc. We are already moving to foreign markets with our products".
