Unique engine for ultralight aircraft is created in Bashkiria

UFA, 7 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Daria Svyatokhina/. In Bashkiria, a unique engine for ultralight aircraft was invented. It is designed for aircraft weighing less than 1000 kilograms (including - drones). The project participates in the federal accelerator of technological projects and start-ups GenerationS ("Dual Technologies" track).

The invention will help to solve the problem of import substitution. Details were shared by the author of the project Platon Maslov.

According to the engineer, work on the project is ongoing since 2013. Initially, a concept was formed, a team of specialists (including designers, doctors of sciences, highly qualified specialists) gathered. The first concept of the engine was ready in 2015. Subsequently, the design was optimized and developed. Now the first prototype is being manufactured, with its further certification.

The weight of the new engine is about 75 kilograms, the power is 120 horsepower. Ufa scientists managed in their invention to combine a small weight (like in petrol engines) and high efficiency (like in diesel engines).
