Agidel, Sibay and Mezhgorye cities are planned to be considered as monotowns in Bashkiria

Issues of socio-economic development of the cities of Agidel, Sibay and Mezhgorye were discussed at a meeting of the Presidium of the Government of the Bashkortostan Republic. The socio-economic situation remains difficult in these municipalities. The level of registered unemployment is increasing, along with the outflow of population. In order to improve the current situation, it was proposed to apply to the cities of Agidel, Sibay and Mezhgorye supporting measures of the regional level provided to mono-industry territories.

A special working group is planned to be set up in the republic to implement this proposal, the press service of the Government RB informs. In addition, a set of measures aimed at creating conditions for economic diversification and business development in these cities is considered, including adoption of republican legal acts on a possibility of creating priority social and economic development areas at the regional level, providing for regional tax benefits for residents of such territories.

This plan contains measures for the elaboration of comprehensive programs for the Agidel, Sibay and Mezhgorye development, as well as inclusion of these municipalities in the priority regional program "Integrated Development of Monotowns in the Republic of Bashkortostan".
