High-tech enterprise for acrylic acid production is launched in Bashkiria

UFA, 1 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Production of acrylic acid and butyl acrylate is launched in the city of Salavat. The new enterprise was opened at Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, the press service of the republican government reported.
The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, during his visit last May, highly appreciated the enterprise investment program allowing starting industrial wastewater treatment lines simultaneously with a launch of new modern units. In addition, it is also several hundred new jobs.
As the Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov noted at an opening ceremony of the new production, the acrylic acid production complex is a serious step in the part of import substitution. That is why it was originally included in the list of priority investment projects in Bashkortostan with significant state support.
According to Valery Golubev, the deputy chairman of the PJSC Gazprom board, production of acrylic acid and butyl acrylate is the most high-tech.
"This state-of-the-art production is characterized by safe process management, sustainable operation, environmental protection from adverse effects, a closed loop system, low power consumption and high quality of products," he said.
According to him, the production capacity of the enterprise will allow producing up to 80 thousand tons of acrylic acid, the same volume of butyl acrylate and 35 thousand tons of ice acrylic acid.
All these substances are used for production of paints, latexes, super-absorbents and other products widely used in everyday life.
The agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Nature Management, the Government of Bashkortostan and Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC was signed on November 13, 2017. The document provides for the construction of a unit for the purification of sulphide-alkaline waste water from the Monomer plant and the refinery of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC for the sum of about 4.3 billion rubles, as well as the treatment facilities reconstruction at the main industrial site of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat for about 7, 6 billion rubles.
