Number of residents decreased by 0.13% in Bashkiria

UFA, 22 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. In Bashkiria, the total population decreased slightly (by 0.13%). The urban population is characterized by growth (since the census of 2010 increased by 2.3% by 2017), for rural - by decrease (3.9%). The main trends of the demographic situation were identified by the President of the Academy of Sciences RB Alfis Gayazov at a meeting in the regional Government. According to the scientist, there is a redistribution of young, able-bodied population in favor of settlements located near major cities.

In remote, rural municipalities there is an outflow of population, the proportion of people of reproductive age is declining and the elderly are increasing. At the same time, there is a positive trend in mortality. Also, the growth in life expectancy continues.

The main reserve for increasing the indicator is the reduction in mortality in working age. In order to increase life expectancy to at least 73.5 years, it is necessary to reduce the death rate in working age to about 400 people per 100 thousand people.

As the President of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus noted, temporary labor migration was growing in the republic. According to Russian Statistics Agency (Rosstat), from 2011 to 2016, the growth was from 113 thousand to 148 thousand people.

"The problem of educational migration of young people is pressing in the republic, which, unfortunately, is often of irreversible nature", Alfis Gayazov stated.

It is planned to increase the total migration growth of the republic by 400 people annually (the increase should reach 1500 people by 2020).
