Single register of online stores is created in Russia
UFA, 21 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Rospotrebnadzor proposed to create in Russia in 2019 a single register of Russian and foreign online stores, the registration of which with the Federal Tax Service (FTS) should help to save the Russian segment of the Internet from shadow trade. This is reported by Izvestia.
According to the proposals of the supervisory authority, the domains of online stores should be connected to a specific legal entity, to which, if necessary, complaints from consumers will be directed. The draft of the relevant law should appear by 2019.
In addition, a legal entity that owns an Internet trading platform is also required to register the e-mail address of the online store. This is necessary to maintain communication with the supervisory authorities.
Industry experts are still at a loss to say what sanctions can be applied to those online trading platforms that refuse to register. According to some sources, such sites can be blocked.
