Bashkiria forestry farms master phyto-tea production

Alim Faizov
UFA, 21 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. Bashkortostan forestry farms master the production of traditional herbal teas, including from the great willow herb called popularly Ivan Tea.
Last year, a line was launched in Ishimbai that produces fermented willow-tea on local raw materials, the press service of the Ministry of Forestry RB reports.
"During the first season of the summer of 2016, the first lot of phyto-tea "Ivan Tea from the South Urals" was produced," says Salim Hafizov, director of the "Makarovsky Forestry" RB.
According to the head of the forestry, the raw materials were collected in an ecologically clean area near the village of Kulgun, Ishimbay district. Today it is stored in special refrigerating chambers. In the near future - the release of two tons of fragrant great willow herb tea is planned.
Salim Hafizov is convinced that soon the whole country will return to the centuries-old tradition and start drinking its native Ivan-tea.
The Ministry of Forestry RB reminds that at the beginning of November the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Evgeny Nepoklonov at a meeting on the development of the tea industry in Russia noted that it was necessary to pay close attention to the development and support of the tea industry in the country.
The bulk of tea sold in Russia is imported from countries where this industry traditionally occupies a significant segment of the economy: China, India, Sri Lanka, Japan and Kenya. According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, for January-November 2017, 137.5 thousand tons of tea worth $ 423.9 million were imported to Russia, which corresponds to the volume for the same period in 2016. Both finished goods and raw materials for the production of tea products are imported.
