Roads quality will be different in our large settlements in coming years - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 20 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. Implementation of the "Safe and High-Quality Roads" federal project will enable to improve significantly the situation with quality of roads in the republic in the coming years. This was stated by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov at a conference of the regional branch of the All-Russian People's Front.

"We have achieved some progress in part of roads. Really good work was done this year. The federal budget supported us a lot regarding the Ufa agglomeration. Our road fund is increasing. The sum of funds for road construction already exceeds 15 billion rubles. Three or four years ago we talked about 6-7 billion rubles, and today's figure sounds very impressively", Rustem Khamitov said. "At the same time, federal bodies work on the roads M-5, M-7 too. Not to the extent that we would like it to be, but still large-scale works are carried out there. We hope for a good result there too. "

"But the "Safe and High-Quality Roads" program is not completed. It will be continued with allocation of significant funds. In the next two to three years we will get a different quality of roads in our large settlements", stressed Rustem Khamitov.

The Head of the Republic also spoke about the plans for construction of bridges, interchanges, railway-crossings and other large objects. All of them will require considerable resources.

"The simplest interchange or overhead railway crossing costs about 1 billion rubles. And we have to build more than one, two, or even ten, of such interchanges," remarked Rustem Khamitov. "But we will build them. Now new opportunities, new technologies are emerging in this sphere".
