Bashkiria took first place in Russia in terms of livestock and 12th place - in terms of grain yield

UFA, 20 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Bashkiria ranks first in the Russian Federation for livestock - 1.077 million heads. Our republic is in the second place in the country according to the cows' number, and in the first - in the Volga Federal District - 430 thousand heads.

In the first 10 months of the current year, 288 thousand tons of livestock and poultry in live weight were produced in the region - 13th place in Russia and the second in Volga Federal District.

Bashkiria is now the second largest in the country in gross milk yield and in the Volga Federal District - 1.483 million tons.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic cites such data in animal husbandry.

As for crop production, Bashkiria took the fourth place in the District and the 12th place in Russia in terms of grain crop-2017. In general, the gross grain harvest in the republic was 3.980 million tons. By the harvest of sugar beet, the republic closed the top three regions in the Volga Federal District and took 11th place in the country. The gross harvest of sugar beet reached 1.581 million tons in the republic.

The total harvest of sunflower, according to the latest data, was 221 thousand tons - the fourth place in the Volga Federal District and the 14th place in Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture stated.
