Chelyabinsk Arbitration will decide on Sistema’s appeal of 136.3 billion rubles recovery today

On Monday, November 13, the eighteenth Arbitration Appeals Court in Chelyabinsk will consider an appeal of Sistema JSFC on the decision of the lower-level arbitrage to recover 136.3 billion rubles from it in favor of Bashneft, Prime reports.

On August 23, the Arbitration Court of Bashkiria partially sustained the claim of Rosneft, Bashneft and Bashkiria, to recover damages caused by the Bashkir oil company in 2014 from Sistema and its subsidiary Sistema-Invest. The court sought in favor of Bashneft 136.3 billion rubles, with a total amount of the claim of 170.6 billion rubles.

Rosneft, Bashneft and Bashkiria filed a general appeal to the court of first instance on September 29, in which they demand to sustain the claim in full. On the same day, Sistema-Invest appealed against the decision.

Earlier, on September 19, the Arbitration Court of Bashkiria registered an appeal of Sistema JSFC. On October 2 it was accepted for hearing by the appellate court and is scheduled for hearing on November 13. In accordance with Russian procedural legislation, all claims regarding the same judicial act are considered simultaneously, in one court session.
