Bashkiria strengthens trade and economic relations with Norway

UFA, 19 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. During an official visit of the Bashkortostan delegation to Norway, the Minister of Economic Development Sergey Novikov met with the executive director of the Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Jarle Forbord.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of Bashkortostan, opportunities and prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
In particular, the parties expressed interest in developing joint projects in the field of tourism, forestry and chemical industry, pharmaceuticals in the production of vitamins, fish farming.
In addition, a possibility of organizing business missions in Bashkortostan was discussed. The Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce expressed its willingness to conduct training events for entrepreneurs of the republic and cooperation with universities in the region.
The executive director of the Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce Jarle Forbord proposed to develop a program for the specialists exchange in the oil industry.
A separate topic of discussion was terms for entry of the Bashkortostan enterprises into the Norwegian market in terms of export development of non-primary products.
At the meeting, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a joint plan of measures to develop trade and economic relations. The preliminary terms of the return visit of the Norwegian delegation to Bashkortostan were outlined. The importance of further cooperation with the Kingdom of Norway was marked in both the B2B (business with business) and R2R (region with the region) formats.
The result of the meeting was a Protocol on Cooperation signing between the Ministry of Economic Development of Bashkortostan and the Norwegian company "RuBiN". The document is expected to assist in the implementation of economic, investment and innovative projects of small and medium-sized businesses in the field of IT technologies, education, infrastructure, tourism, medicine, science, culture, art, innovation, agriculture and fisheries, as well as methodological support for the opening business in Norway.
