Trans-Urals industrial development will require combined types of electricity generation - Rustem Khamitov
UFA, 18 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. Construction of large industrial facilities in the Bashkir Trans-Urals will require combined types of electricity generation to prevent its shortage. This was stated by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov during the Russian Energy Forum, which takes place in Ufa.
“From the construction point of view, we have two enterprises in Trans-Urals on the way today. In the near future, Chinese colleagues are going to launch construction of a large enterprise for construction materials. In the same place an Austrian enterprise of approximately the same business activity will be built in the Bashkir Trans-Urals,” Rustem Khamitov said. “Each project will cost about 150-200 million euro or about 12.5-14 billion rubles. Total we should receive about 30 billion rubles of investments. We need 200 MW of installed capacity. But it is not available there today.”
The head of the republic noted that the enterprises of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) engaged in extraction of copper and zinc ores started to operate more actively in the market, and they also needed additional energy.
“Probably we will have to use combined power generation. Solar power industry has emerged. Now we are thinking about building local power plants based on gas turbine technology. Further, we think that we have quite good wind parks there. Plus, of course, traditional power generation, which will require building a power transmission line to receive electricity from nearby regions", said Rustem Khamitov. “Thus, we will be able to replace the deficit that has arisen in connection with the construction of large enterprises, and find the optimal alternative for generating electricity.”
