Bashkiria among top three leaders in production of greenhouse vegetables – Russian Agriculture Ministry

UFA, 18 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Bashkiria is among the top three in the country for the production of greenhouse vegetables. The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia announced data on the greenhouse vegetables harvesting, which grew by 26%.

"The leaders in the production of greenhouse vegetables in agricultural organizations and farms among the subjects of the Russian Federation were Krasnodar Territory - 76.5 thousand tons, Stavropol Territory - 49.6 thousand tons, Republic of Bashkortostan - 36.8 thousand tons, Republic of Tatarstan - 36,6 thousand tons, Lipetsk region - 29,8 thousand tons", it is reported on the website of the agrarian department of Russia.

The gross collection of greenhouse vegetables is 630 thousand tons nationwide, which is by 25.9% more than in the same period last year (in 2016 - 500.1 thousand tons). A total of 421,700 tons of cucumbers were harvested in the country (in 2016 - 345,200 tons) and 198,500 tons of tomatoes (in 2016 -140,800 tons). The yield of other vegetable crops is 9.8 thousand tons (in 2016 - 14.1 thousand tons).
