Sugar beet harvest exceeded 1 million tons in Bashkiria

UFA, 13 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. In Bashkortostan, currently more than 1 million tons of sugar beets have been harvested. About 600 thousand tons were delivered to sugar refineries, half of which have already been processed.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture RB, sweet root crops were harvested from the area of 33.3 thousand hectares, which is 64 percent of the plan. The harvesting is completed in the Miyaky district, almost finished in Fedorovka, Ufa and Karmaskaly districts.

The average yield of sugar beet is 307 centners per hectare. The leaders in yields are the Ufa and Gafuri regions, where sugar beet growers take, respectively, 385 and 383 centners per hectare.

The sugar beet growers of Chishmy district are the leaders in sweet root crops growing and harvesting - more than 157.6 and 98 thousand tons, respectively.
