More than 1 billion rubles were allocated to form comfortable urban environment from federal and republican budgets

UFA, 5 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. Total more than 1 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal and republican budgets for the improvement of yards and public areas within the priority project "Formation of Comfortable Urban Environment". Such figures were announced by the Head of the Region Rustem Khamitov at a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on this issue.

The Head of the Republic noted that this year 25 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget for the implementation of the program, of which 856 million rubles were allocated to Bashkortostan. Co-financing from the republican budget amounted to 175 million rubles.

"Two-thirds of the funds (almost 700 million rubles) are to be spent on improvement of yards in our cities. By the end of the year, almost 400 neighborhood territories will be covered by this program in all cities of the republic. In the cities of Neftekamsk, Dyurtyuli and Yanaul, the work under this program has already been fully completed", said Rustem Khamitov. "344 million rubles were allocated for the improvement of 35 public areas. Participation in this work of local residents and public control are the main principles for this priority project".

Among the already accomplished facilities are a park in Mezhgorye, Alley of Memory of the Great Patriotic War in Neftekamsk, Beloretsk city park, Yunost square in Sibai and a recreation park in Yanaul.

At the same time, the Head of the Republic stressed that the works on improvement only in eight public territories out of 35 had been completed. In order to receive the same significant funding for this area in the next year, all works should be completed in the current year.

The Minister of Housing and Utility Services RB Sergey Afonin in his speech specified that that year only 23 cities and a city-type settlement participated in the project from the region. As a result of competitive procedures, the number of yards included in the address list of 2017 increased to 393.

Rustem Khamitov noted that Bashkortostan managed to increase the number of the renovated urban centers and public areas at the expense of the republic even before the start of the federal priority project "Formation of Comfortable Urban Environment".

"Only in Ufa, since 2011, 1,116 yards out of 4,000 have been renovated", Rustem Khamitov said.

"Today is a new stage of work aimed at improving the life and environment of our townspeople".
