Russia will limit meat and bone meal import since December 1 - Ministry of Agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture proposes to limit the import of meat and bone meal from December 1 due to the growth in the production of meat products in Russia. Izvestia reports with the reference to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Alexander Tkachev proposes to fully limit the import of these products from the sanctions countries since December 1. According to the minister, over the past 10 years, the production of meat products, primarily pork and poultry meat, has multiply increased in Russia, and due to the development of deep processing, the volumes of meat and bone meal production also increased.

According to the department, at the moment Russia produces about 370,000 tons of meat and bone meal, which is 82% of the total consumption.
