Commemorative coins of the Bank of Russia minted by the St. Petersburg Mint, became the winners of the 11th International Coin Contest "Coin Constellation - 2017". According to the press service of the Central Bank, in the nomination "The Gold Coin of the Year" the coin "Historical and Architectural Ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow" with a face value of 10 thousand rubles from the "Russia in the World, Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO" series was awarded.
"The Great Imperial Crown" silver coin in a special performance from the "Diamond Fund of Russia" series became the winner in the nomination "Successful Artistic Execution".
The second place in the nomination "Coin Classics" was won by the gold coin "150th Anniversary of the Russian Historical Society Founding ".
Total, 268 commemorative coins from 40 participants from 27 countries of the world were presented for the contest this year. All coins were issued in 2016. Among the participants of the competition are national banks and mints of countries of Europe, Asia, New Zealand, USA and Japan.
