Russia’s bid to host Apimondia 2021 will be considered in Istanbul

UFA, 3 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. On October 3, a country to host the 47th Congress "Apimondia" and the ApiExpo 2021 exhibition will be determined at the Congress of the International Federation of Apiculture Associations "Apimondia" in Istanbul. Voting on the venue will take place during the General Assembly of Apimondia.

The Russian bid was presented here on September 30. In addition to the Russian presentation, the bids of Serbia, Slovenia and Denmark were also presented in Istanbul. The leaders of the beekeeping associations of India, Canada, Moldova, South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, China, Brazil, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates and other countries visited the stand of the Russian Federation. Total, Apimondia unites 118 beekeeping unions from 82 countries of the world.

On the eve of the first general assembly, the Bashkir Scientific Research Center for Apiculture and Apitherapy became a full member of Apimondia. Now three organizations from the Russian Federation will have the right to vote. Recall that members of the Apimondia from Russia are also the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Russian National Union of Beekeepers.

During the talks, it was discussed cooperation in the field of beekeeping development, exchange of experience in apitherapy, mechanisms for supporting beekeeping beginners in different countries, support for Russia's bid for the holding of a world congress of beekeepers in Ufa in 2021.
