Modern carsharing service opened in Ufa

UFA, 3 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. In Ufa a Delimobile new service began to operate. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov estimated the peculiarities of the system operation and the benefits of carsharing.

Carsharing is a kind of short-term car rental with a per-minute or an hourly rate, usually used for short city trips. The service assumes a possibility to return a car at any of the service points. The first carsharing operators appeared in Moscow, St. Petersburg, at the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, and now in Ufa.

At the initial stage, 50 Hyundai Solaris cars will be used in Delimobil service. By 2018, it is planned to increase the number of cars to 300.

The service provides online booking of free cars through an Internet browser or a smartphone application. The user is given 20 minutes to reach the selected car, during which the fee is not charged. After the expiration of this period, the fee starts to be charged according to the parking tariff.

The points of issue and return of cars are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Cars can be rented by minutes, hours or days. Insurance and gasoline are included in the rental price.

The General Director of LLC "Carsharing Russia" Leonid Sysoev said that, according to statistics, one carsharing car replaces up to 10 individual cars, which reduces the load on the road network and improves the ecological situation. In addition, this avoids the multiple costs of maintaining personal vehicles. Such car rental fare is an average of 50 percent cheaper than a taxi.

"If this project is expanding quite actively, there will be fewer traffic jams on the streets of our cities, and we will quickly get to work or home", said Rustem Khamitov.

The head of the republic personally examined the possibilities of the service, having driven one of the cars, and congratulated the Ufa residents on the appearance of the demanded worldwide system of carsharing in the capital of Bashkortostan.

"Ufa today receives a new modern technology. This is the fourth territory after Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Krasnodar Territory, where the project is implemented. Undoubtedly, we are glad that new modern advanced technologies were introduced here", said Rustem Khamitov. "I hope that this project will be successful. The start of the project is made in the republic. Besides, Sterlitamak, Neftekamsk and other our major cities are next in line. It will be actually a new modern era in the transport development of Ufa and the cities of our republic."
