Small enterprises turnover in Bashkortostan exceeded 1 trillion rubles

UFA, 29 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. The turnover of small enterprises exceeded 1 trillion rubles in Bashkortostan in 2016. This was announced by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov at a plenary session of the Third Small Business Forum of SCO and BRICS Regions held in Ufa.

"For the last two years the number of small enterprises, sole traders has grown by 9 thousand in our republic. Since the beginning of the year their number added 4 thousand. Turnover of small enterprises last year exceeded 1 trillion rubles or 16.5 billion dollars. Today these enterprises form almost one third of the gross regional product of the republic", said the Head of the Region.

At the same time, the Head of the Republic noted that mentality of entrepreneurs should be changed for a significant breakthrough in that area.

"This mentality, of course, should be changed. We should show willingness of our authorities, state, and regions to support small businesses, to render them assistance above all", Rustem Khamitov stressed.

"We will conduct this work by all means. It is clear to us that it is quite difficult for small businesses to break through in this direction without the support by the state, power structures, without subsidized rates of loans. But I am an optimist in this part and, of course, I believe that we are making steps in the right direction, that there is some return. Though the efficiency is still low, but we gain momentum, and the progress is clearly visible".
