Railway station reconstruction will be continued in Ufa

UFA, 29 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/. In Ufa, a reconstruction of the railway station will continue. The cost of works is estimated at 1 billion 145 million rubles, of which JSC Russian Railways will allocate about 842 million rubles, and the region - 303 million rubles, RBC-Ufa reports.

The republic has secured funding for soil stabilization, storm drainage, engineering and water supply networks construction. Russian Railways will undertake the reconstruction of the existing station building, an underground pedestrian crossing and platforms No.2 and No.3 with an adaptation for physically challenged people. Also, a new passenger platform No. 4 will be built, to which the underground passage will be extended.

According to the head of the Kuybyshev regional directorate of railway stations Andrei Komarovsky, the problem point of the reconstruction project is a hotel construction at the station square with a cost of about 203 million rubles. Russian Railways do not consider it possible to finance the project at its own expense, and it is not yet possible to find an investor. The hotel in close proximity to the station is necessary to the city. Among the possible reasons for unwillingness of investors to build a hotel near the station of Ufa are necessity to transfer engineering networks and the Center for Railway Traffic Control from the site.

The renovated station is planned to be commissioned by the 100th anniversary of the republic in 2019.
