Vladimir Putin demanded to address quickly and effectively VIM-Avia issue

UFA, 28 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. Vladimir Putin demanded to address quickly and effectively the situation around VIM-Avia airline. As reported by TASS, at a meeting with the government the head of state strongly criticized the issue with the airline.

"I ask you to close this problem quickly and effectively, to submit proposals for resolving the situation as a whole, for strengthening legal regulation of this field of activity, for increasing the responsibility of carriers," the president said. "And meeting the norms, requirements and relevant criteria should be supervised".

He stressed that the requirements and criteria should be effective, understandable and transparent.

During the conversation, the president also announced a "service incompetence note" to the head of the Ministry of Transport.

Recall that the Association of Tour Operators submitted an appeal to the Russian government asking to intervene in the situation with the insolvency of the VIM-Avia company, which can affect up to 100,000 Russian tourists. Total accounts payable of VIM-Avia are estimated at between 3 and 10 billion rubles. The company does not currently have working assets that could be used to compensate tourists or replace flights.
