State-owned companies purchases from small businesses exceeded 1.3 trillion rubles

UFA, 18 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The volume of purchases of state-owned companies from small and medium-sized businesses amounted to 1.3 trillion rubles in 2017. This is a record in the trade turnover between large companies and small business representatives, Izvestia reports.

The head of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Development Corporation Alexander Braverman explained the increase in the volume of purchases.

"This year's growth is primarily due to the fact that the governmental decree has come into force that extends the list of customers who must work under the law on the procurement of legal entities from 200 to 419", the head of the corporation said, noting also that now Rosneft, RZD, Rostelecom, RZDstroy and Sberbank were the leaders in terms of buying from SMEs.

At the same time, experts predict a further increase in the SMEs attractiveness to large business players.
