Minimum wage in Russia will be increased by 21.7% since January

UFA, 13 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. From January 1, 2018, the minimum wage will increase by 21.7%, said the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Maxim Topilin.

As reported on the website of the federal agency, a bill on the gradual increase in the minimum wage to the subsistence level of the able-bodied population has already been prepared. In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, the bill provides for raising the minimum wage in two stages: to 85% of the subsistence minimum since January 1, 2018 and to 100% - since January 1, 2019.

"Since January 1, 2018, the minimum wage will increase by 21.7% and will amount to 9489 rubles. The absolute size of the minimum wage from January 1, 2019 will be established by federal law in 2018 based on the dynamics of the subsistence level", Maxim Topilin specified.

According to the minister, the bill will be submitted to the State Duma simultaneously with the draft budget of the country for 2018-2020.

The minimum wage will be set at 100% of the subsistence level of the able-bodied population annually by federal law. The value of the subsistence level for the second quarter of 2017 is taken into account: 11,163 rubles.
