State purchases volume amounted to 49 billion rubles in Bashkortostan in 2016

UFA, 26 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. Last year, the volume of state purchases in Bashkortostan amounted to almost 49 billion rubles. At the same time, 576 violations of legislation were identified in this sphere. This was reported by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov at the meeting of the Commission for Coordinating Combating Corruption Activity in the region.

"Last year the Ministry of Finance of the republic revealed 576 violations of the requirements of the contract system law. Employees of the Prosecutor's Office brought to administrative responsibility 53 employees of ministries and departments, 230 people had disciplinary penalties. Investigative bodies initiated four criminal cases", said the Head of the Region. "But the measures taken to counteract corruption in this sphere are not enough. We should further tighten the control over it".

The Head of Bashkortostan noted that over 110 thousand purchases were made last year.

"This money is huge. Of course, this money is already quite a temptation for employees with sticky fingers. Corruption risks are high. Therefore, we need to constantly monitor what is happening in this area, "stressed Rustem Khamitov. "Budgeting money should be spent only on the purposes, which are determined by the legislation of the republic - construction of roads, schools, hospitals, kindergartens. Any encroachment on the budgetary funds abuse should not exist at all. This is the main rule for absolutely all officials".
