Kronospan plans to reach full capacity in Ufa during year

UFA, 21 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. The Kronospan-Bashkortostan plant producing laminated chipboard plans to reach full capacity during the year, which amounts to 90,000 cubic meters of boards per month (more than 1 million cubic meters per year). So far the plant is working for half of its capacity, producing 40-45 thousand cubic meters of materials for furniture. According to the commercial director of the factory Barysh Jan, 40% of the products is exported to China and Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. A significant part of it goes to neighbouring cities with a developed furniture industry – Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk. Only 10% of products is left in the republic. This is explained by state of the local market, which has already developed by the time of the Kronospan launch.

According to the production manager Sergei Strauch, the company consumes about 90,000 cubic meters of raw materials every month. 80% of raw materials come from the republican supplers, the rest is delivered from neighbouring Chelyabinsk and Orenburg regions and Tatarstan.

The plant is building new workshops for the production of oriented particle board used in construction. The second line requires 200 million euros of investments. Its launch is planned for the winter of January 2018. The first stage of the plant cost 250 million euros. It is also planned to launch the 3rd line - for the production of medium density fibre boards.

"Kronospan" is an anchor resident of the Ufa industrial park occupying 2/3 of its territory and creating conditions for the activities of related industries. The park accommodates small businesses that produce furniture and furniture accessories, two enterprises for woodworking waste processing, a large logistics complex, and other industries. According to the executive director of the park Nail Gabbasov, the plant plans to pay 18 billion rubles in taxes for 18 years of work, of which more than 12 billion rubles will be transferred to the republican and municipal budgets.
