Russia is in top five countries worst for pensioners

UFA, 20 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. One of the largest French banks Natixis presented the results of its annual study of the level of comfort for retired citizens in a particular country. They were disappointing for Russia, «Izvestiya» reports.
The compilers of the rating assigned it the 40th place out of 43 possible. However, in comparison with last year the situation did not worsen (Russia took the same position in the Global Pension Index - 2016).
Natixis makes similar ratings for the fifth consecutive year, based on World Bank data and official statistics from different countries. The ranking of states by location is carried out according to four main criteria - the level of health care development, amount of pension payments, quality of life in the country and material well-being of citizens. For Russia, these figures in 2017 were estimated at 36%, 41%, 58% and 47% respectively (the final figure is 45%).
The three lowest lines this year are occupied by Brazil, Greece and India. The 39th line in the rating is assigned to Turkey (these countries together with Russia are the last five of the list).
Traditionally, the Scandinavian countries are leading in terms of the level of comfort for pensioners. The top five included Norway (1st place, 86%) and Sweden (4th place). Switzerland took the second place. The top three is closed by Iceland, and the top five by New Zealand, the only non-European country on the top of the list.
The leading economies of the European Union - Germany and France - occupy only the 7th and 19th places. The US is on the 17th place in terms of the level of comfort provided to pensioners.
