It is proposed to tax shopping in foreign online stores

UFA, 14 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Purchases of Russians in foreign online stores are offered to charge VAT instead of customs duties. Because of this, goods can rise in price by 18%. Thus, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) intends to ensure equal working conditions for Russian and foreign trading online sites. This is reported by «Izvestiya».
Earlier, the President Vladimir Putin instructed several agencies to propose changes to the legislation "aimed at ensuring equal conditions for companies operating in the Russian Federation using the Internet."
FAS was appointed responsible for the execution of the assignment. The main offer of the service is value added tax collection from all parcels imported into the country.
The innovation should bring about 100 billion rubles annually to the Russian budget.
