Ufa monorail metro will be built by CCEGC Chinese Company

UFA, 29 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. The Chinese corporation Chongqing Construction Engineering Group, possibly, will build an overground metro (monorail) in Ufa. The official delegation of Bashkiria visited Chongqing, where a discussion of options for investing in road construction projects in the republic in the form of public-private partnership was held. According to the State Committee for Transport RB, three projects - a construction of a monorail road, a bypass road of Neftekamsk and Birsk - Tastuba - Satka road, attracted the greatest interest among Chinese investors.

In the beginning of the year representatives of the construction company from Chongqing visited Ufa and got acquainted with the proposed options for cooperation. Chongqing is the most densely populated city in China, with about 50 million people living in it. In 2005, CCEGC built a 13.5 km long monorail in Chongqing. In Ufa, a similar type of transport, according to experts, could solve the problem of the urban transport for many years to come. The demanded road bypassing Neftekamsk will lead to a new toll bridge across the Kama to Udmurtia. The 60-kilometer road from Birsk through Tastuba to Satka will allow unloading the federal highway M-5, connecting many villages and, accordingly, will give an impetus to the economic development of the northeast of Bashkortostan.
