Bashkiria is bidding for right to hold International Beekeepers Congress "Apimondia" 2021 in Ufa

UFA, 23 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The Russian National Union of Beekeepers received an official letter from the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Beekeeping Associations "Apimondia" on registration of the Russian Federation’s bid for holding the 47th International Congress "Apimondia" and the International Exhibition "ApiExpo" in 2021.

The Republic of Bashkortostan was proposed as a venue for this large-scale event. Denmark, Serbia and Slovenia are also competing for the right to host the congress and exhibition. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Bashkortostan.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the Government of Bashkortostan and the Russian National Union of Beekeepers will present the Russian bid to the General Assembly of Apimondia. It will be held in Istanbul, in early October. The winner country will be determined in the same place during the voting.

"The Bid Committee of Russia has done quite significant work on preparing documents for submission to the Executive Committee of Apimondia. Beekeeping associations of 84 countries of the world which will vote for candidates in Istanbul will get acquainted with our country and republic through this presentation. We should convince the members of Apimondia that after 50 years since the 23rd Congress of Apimondia in Moscow in 1971, this event, significant for beekeepers all over the world, should take place in the honeyed heart of Russia - Bashkortostan", commented on the Minister RB Ruslan Mirsayapov.
